Envelope Stuffing

Envelope stuffing is a old scam that's been around for many years. First, there are machines that can stuff hundreds or thousands of envelopes per hour, and if that's not enough, print shops often offer this as a service for a ridiculously low price of pennies per envelope when they get the print job. Why would a business offer to ship hundreds of pounds of materials for you to do envelope stuffing at $2 per envelope?

Some envelope stuffing places will require you to buy a "starter kit" Right there, you can pretty much depend on the fact that it's a scam, as no business is going to charge for you to do work for them. Other scams don't actually pay you to do it, you have to stuff and mail the envelopes out. Then you get a commission from any sales you generate. In other words, you pay for the materials and put up all the time and money, and then only if they get a sale, and decide to tell you about it, do you get paid a commission. Hmmmm.

Here is a common scenario. You read an ad or web site claiming that you can make $1645.00 per week stuffing envelopes from your favorite rocking chair. You earn $1.00 or $2.00 for each and every one. Often they want an up front fee just to be sure you're serious.

Alrighty the, easy work, big money, sounds great. You pony up the money and order the package.

When the starter package arrives and you open it, you find that you will be spreading the news about the envelope stuffing business. You will pay to send out the materials, and you get to keep the money from the sales that you have to make. Kind of sounds like a chain letter eh?

Every envelope stuffing place I've ever checked looked like a scam. Either no phone number, or address, or they only used a voice mail line, which didn't even have an address to the number. Envelope stuffing is a scheme to prey on weak people wanting to make "fast easy money." Often times they are the ones who are investing their last dollar to take the bait into one of these kinds of programs. Avoid envelope stuffing at all cost!
