Going Platinum, Inc.
Going Platinum
Inc. was initiated in Lancaster, Penn., and promises
that its multi-level marketing program can "turn a $3,000 per month Going Platinum
income into well over $30,000 per month!" But I
read all over the news groups that this is not true.
This is a company you should be cautious of.
For starters the SEC has been chasing them in court
for years.
On December
10, 2001, the Honorable Robert F. Kelly approved a
consent order under which the Securities and
Exchange Commission ("Commission") to obtain
documents relating to the Commission's investigation
into whether
Going Platinum, Inc. and Catalan have engaged
in a fraudulent scheme to sell unregistered securities
over the Internet. This was still going on in 2006.
Apparently their free internet opportunity is just a
scam to get personal information from you like your social
security number to use in their securities scheme.
The business
sounds great. As Going Platinum describes itself, "It
is a full-service ISP, Internet Gateway, Search Engine/Directory,
Shopping Mall, Virtual Office,
and just about anything else you can think of, all rolled
into one easy-to-use site."
But there is no mall, though Catalan announced it would
open in Dec. 2000, it has not opened yet.
That, and they take your commission and more, by charging
whopping membership fees. This is definitely a company
to stay away from.
